Time for you

My name is Suzanne and I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Coventry. I have been working therapeutically with clients for almost 20 years.  In an initial free conversation, you will be able to share what has brought you to counselling and see how we might work together.   My counselling experience includes; emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, addiction, self-destructive and self-defeating behaviours, adverse childhood experiences, depression and anxiety.  I have particularly extensive experience in working with sex/pornography addiction. I have had the benefit of working in placements,  and in private practice.

My approach to counselling is integrative which means I use various approaches when working with you.  I will support you to express your thoughts and feelings about something that is causing difficulty in your life, and then enable you explore what comes up for you.  I can listen to you and provide a non-judgemental space so you can feel heard and understood. My desire is to work honestly and openly with you so that you reach your therapeutic goals. I believe a lot of the real work in therapy comes from those open exchanges, in the safety of that therapeutic relationship.

I believe that you are the authority of you, and in that, I will not 'assess you', I will be guided by what you believe your needs to be, and work with you from there.  This is a journey,  this is your journey.

"I came across Suzanne through chance and she has supported me through losing my son. I felt a failure but Suzanne sat and listened, she just helps you to rewire your brain, giving me strength to get through the hardest time in my life.  She has just such an amazing way of helping me to help myself, giving me strategies to get through the tough moments. I would recommend this caring lady any day"

"I  found Suzanne warming and friendly whilst very professional. Her approach puts you at ease and at times I felt like I was talking to a friend. It can be tough to reach out and ask for help but I am so glad I did as my counselling sessions with Suzanne really helped to get me through my grief and PND".

"Suzanne helped to free me from the limiting beliefs that I had been trying to overcome by myself for several years. Exploring these with Suzanne empowered me to arrive at healthier perceptions of these challenging situations and the best part was that these were in fact my own perceptions that had become clouded by these limiting beliefs and together we uncovered them"

"Throughout the sessions it was made clear to me that the time was mine, I was free to talk about anything even though it may not have been the specific topic I was there to explore.  Suzanne never made me feel uncomfortable, she never judged or made any personal opinions, she discussed different coping strategies and mechanisms with me to try that she believed suited my needs"
